THAW Book 6 MSI Series
THAW Book 6 in the Moreton Scientific Investigation Series is just days away from being published on Amazon in Kindle, Paperback and also free with Kindle Unlimited. I’m just checking through for the umpteenth time using a really useful tool ElevenReader which I can import my files into and hear the audio version. It’s brilliant for picking out any last glitches that need fixing.
The voices are spot on and you cannot tell the difference between the AI voice and a real human. The only downside is that it doesn’t get emotion right all the time and sometimes the voice will say something that a real person would deliver with a bit more expression and passion.
I’m currently editing in the back garden and it touching 30 degrees celsius – absolutely melting! Very unusual for South Wales in the UK, where even the sheep wear wooly vests to keep warm.
It has been an absolute joy writing THAW which I took a large chunk of inspiration from the Greenland ice shelf. Due to the war in Ukraine my return flight from Japan last April was diverted and part of the 15 hour flight was over most of Greenland.
It was a crystal clear day and the view is something that will live with me forever. Simply magnificent – as soon as I looked down at the ice, snow, mountains and never ending glaciers from 33,000 feet up in the sky, I knew it had to form part of the story. Greenland was mentioned briefly in Book 5 ‘Legend’ but has a much bigger presence in THAW, which I hope you will really enjoy reading.

Here is the short blurb for THAW Book 6:
A storm. A secret. An extraterrestrial awakening.
When a cargo ship is battered by a ferocious Irish Sea storm, two containers vanish into the depths. Days later, something extraordinary washes ashore on a North Cornwall beach—which appears to be a block of ice containing a frozen body.
The Home Office summon Dr. Ben Sharman and the elite Moreton Scientific Investigation team to uncover the truth. But what they find defies science. The ice doesn’t follow the laws of physics. The being within it bears unmistakably features that are not human. And the unthinkable happens—it awakens, escapes, and disappears into the British countryside.
Now, the most dangerous hunt begins.
An assassin with a vendetta is convinced the creature must die to protect humanity from alien takeover.
A ruthless operative sees it as the ultimate weapon. An extra terrestrial infiltrator capable of conquering Earth through gene manipulation.
And Sharman’s team races to uncover the truth: What is this being? Why was it entombed in the Irish Sea? And does it bring salvation… or unwelcome genetic infiltration?
As Britain becomes the battleground, three forces collide in a cataclysmic confrontation. Every decision carries catastrophic weight. Every moment lost draws humanity closer to the brink.
At the center of it all stands one extraordinary being. Neither fully alien nor entirely human. holding the power to save humanity… or evolve it into something unspeakable.
Book 6 in the internationally acclaimed Moreton Scientific Investigation series—where alien threats meet human determination, and the fight for truth becomes a fight for survival. Sci-fi action adventure at its very best.
